Chairperson's message

Welcome to the website of the Asian-Pacific Assosiation for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology(APAB).  The APAB was established at the founding members meeting in 2008, 2 and half years after I organized 1st Asian-Pacific Congress for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (APCB)  at Chiba, Japan in November, 2005.

The mission of the APAB is to contribute further progress of the art and science of bronchology and interventional pulmonology in the Asian–Pacific region.  The areas stretching from the Indian subcontinent in the west, to Japan and the Pacific islands in the east, China in the north and Australia and New Zealand in the south.  I strongly believe that our association will develop into an international society, because Asia is very hot in development of nobel technologies and instruments of respiratory endoscopy.

The new technologies include endobronchial ultrasound-transbronchial needle aspiration, autofluorescence bronchovideoscopy, optical coherent tomography, virtual bronchoscopy, narrow band imaging and so on.  It is very important to train the advanced techniques of these newly developed endoscopies, therefore, training course by Hands-on-workshop is inevitable along with the congress.

I welcome you to join the APAB and share the scientific ideas with world leading physicians, surgeons and researchers in bronchology and interventional pulmonology.  This website will provide informations important for your clinical practice as well as scientific meetings.  I hope you will visit this website to improve your level of knowledge of bronchology and interventional pulmonology.

Best wishes
